  1. As I commented earlier on Randy’s blog, I have to agree with you Train’s rendition isn’t very good. Of course, covering such an iconic song can have its pitfalls. But as the two other renditions illustrate, if done right, the outcomes can be compelling. Jose Feliciano’s version of “Light My Fire” is outstanding and one of my favorites by him.

    1. Feliciano’s cover is amazing and he was the closing act at the Miami Pop festival in 1968 that I was lucky enough to attend and got to see him perform the song! He started off the set playing “Flight of the Bumble Bee,” which I had heard played on a piano but not on guitar. You could hear a pin drop in the open air theatre. That was 57 years ago but I remember it as if I heard it yesterday!
